Tourism in Mexico

With multiple border crossings to choose from, the adventure of Northern Mexico is just minutes away. Explore the larger, bustling cities of Matamoros and Reynosa, or retreat into the laid-back border town of Nuevo Progreso.

Nuevo Progreso, across from Mercedes, offers tourists a unique Mexican experience in shopping and dining. Its downtown features an assortment of restaurants with local and international foods, small roadside bar and grills, and rows of artisan shops—all within a comfortable walking distance.

Nuevo Progreso is a perfect little taste of Mexico, and can be the base camp for a more extensive trip into Mexico’s interior.
